Roger Williams Park Zoo

With more than 150 animals to visit, the Roger Williams Park Zoo is an excellent choice for everyone in the family and especially nature lovers! At this zoo you can see elephants, giraffes, flamingos, bald eagles, and much more, or just enjoy yourself with a stroll around their grounds. The zoo is open most weekdays until 4:00 p.m., with extended hours on the weekend, so you can visit just about any day of the week!

Providence Children’s Museum

The Providence Children’s Museum offers lots of interactive fun for the kids as well as play places for them to expend some energy. Children can learn about science basics including water movement, how vacuums work, and much more. They can also use blocks for building and lots of art supplies for making their own creations!

Roger Williams Park Botanical Center

The Roger Williams Park Botanical Center is the largest indoor park open to the public in New England, and contains a greenhouse, fountains, a small fish pond, and a larger viewing pond. The botanical center is also home to over 150 plant varieties as well as various trees, offering something for everyone.

The center is currently open only on the weekends so as to limit large indoor groups, but does offer lots to see and do both indoors and out. You can even host a private event or party at the center as well! For current hours and tickets, visit https://www.providenceri.gov/botanical-center/.

India Point Park

Located on the shore of the  Seekonk River, India Point Park is an excellent spot for outdoor lovers of all ages. The park offers lots of space for biking, jogging, or just taking a leisurely stroll by the water. There are also lots of seafood and other festivals held throughout the year, many of which are slowly returning after being temporary halted during COVID-19 slowdowns.
